Allen Edmonds

Founded: 1922
Headquarters: Port Washington, Wisconsin

Allen Edmonds is an iconic American footwear brand renowned for its premium, handcrafted men’s dress shoes and accessories. Founded in 1922 by Elbert W. Allen in Belgium, Wisconsin, the company has upheld a tradition of quality craftsmanship using a 212-step production process with fine imported leathers.

Allen Edmonds gained a loyal following by providing shoes for U.S. military officers during World War II. The brand’s timeless styles like the Park Avenue oxford have been worn by U.S. presidents from Ronald Reagan onwards during their inauguration ceremonies. While offering a limited range of classic designs, Allen Edmonds provides an impressive array of widths and sizes to ensure a perfect fit.

In addition to shoes, the company offers shoe care products, cedar accessories from its Woodlore division, leather goods like belts and wallets, and even a recrafting service to restore older Allen Edmonds shoes. Though it was a family-owned business until 2006, Allen Edmonds is now part of Caleres, continuing its commitment to American manufacturing.
